Cinisi, Sicily

My grandmother's family (Sclafani) is from Cinisi, Sicily. As a result, I've visited there a few times. It's a small town with nothing to offer a typical tourist: It has a very limited access to the coast because the government took most of their waterfront property for the Palermo airport—so when you go to Palermo by an airplane, you're landing in Cinisi. The town is small, about eleven thousand people. Although the base of the town is flat and where most of the people of Cinisi live, the city limits extend into the mountains where there are several olive groves.

This page provides a central location for information related to this topic which is special to me and this site. It will link you to related articles, photo albums, and musings, if any.

Located west of Palermo; population in 2007 was 11,363.
